Everybody is either getting engaged, getting married or getting paid this summer.

And I got ass-kicked by CPA exams, got robbed by my never met landlord and got screwed over by the columbus airport

But looking at the brighter side, I AM living my dream, finished my master’s, moved to the city, having a decent job waiting, putting a 10021 area code on my addy, having great friends around, good books on hand, great family behind, etc.

This Aug is the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter. I don’t want to set up too much expectation, but we still need to aim high.

Starting from this moment, I shall learn to pick my battles and fight till the last minute! Should be fun!

Am I the only one who think that this is funny? It was taken after our "grant seasonal finale" dinner the night before I left Cbus.

That was his first attempt to open a bottle of "yellow tail" (I know…) Turns out he broke the opener and he blamed the manufacturer. How classic!

说真的,我发现所有那些让人恐惧,担心想要回避的都是还未发生,只存在在主观联想中的事物
而当你决定着手实干,硬着头皮迈下第一步后,一切便会容易的多. 但是人又不可能避免"想"的过程.因为没有那个过程,你恐怕迈不出第一步,恐怕全然不知目标,恐怕即使做了什么也不觉得获得了什么.
如果"想"是"做"的必然前提, 那么尽量缩短"想"的时间,并最大限度地达到"想"的效果便成为了很重要的课题
这也是区别人与人的一道重要标尺

One of the best things that happened to me during my Fisher experience is that
I met two very distinguished professors Prof. Eric Spires and Prof. Anil Arya.
They not only have achieved great success in their own research and teaching
careers but also are well respected as ordinary people and friends. They always pointed
out my mistakes like a wakeup call, and pushed me to achieve more than I could
ever imagine. Here I am today; I thank them for being such wonderful people and
such great teachers.
